The Mi 4 is Xiaomi’s 2014-2015 flagship smartphone. Owners of the device will be happy to know that Android 6.0.1 is just around the corner.
Screenshots surfaced in the wild today of a user who received the download for Google’s latest Android 6.0.1 update. Unlike other Xiaomi devices, the Mi 4 seemingly skipped right over Android 6.0 and will go directly to Android 6.0.1. If you see a notification, the build number containing the update is listed as MMB29M.
The device that began with Android 4.4 just over a year ago has been treated quite well when it comes to updates. Xiaomi was sure to bring its latest MIUI versions along with the latest Android updates soon after their releases. The Android 6.0.1 update comes in at about 100MB in size. We recommend that you connect to a Wi-Fi network prior to downloading and installing to save your monthly cellular data. It’s also important to have at least 50% battery heading into the installation. Keep a close eye out, the update should hit all Mi 4’s in the very close future.
