BlackBerry has begun pushing out the January security update to the Priv, according to a tweet from Michael Clewley. There hasn’t been any official word on what vulnerabilities this update addresses yet.
The update will rollout to unlocked smartphones bought from ShopBlackBerry and a small handful of carriers. Clewley says that it’ll rollout to the smartphone on other carriers sometime next week.
The monthly security patch release is now posted (AAD250). ShopBB and some carriers, more carriers next week.

BlackBerry’s new Priv smartphone is starting to see some price cuts in Canada, and could see a permanent discount sometime in February. The device will soon be available to a larger audience as well, with T-Mobile reportedly launching the handset on its network come January 26.
If you’re not seeing the update just yet, you can check for it manually in Settings > About Phone.
