Adobe Lightroom updated to 2.0 and brings in-app RAW capable camera

Adobe Lightroom is one of the the best photo editing apps out there. It allows you to edit almost anything you want and the photos can be synced to your computer or other devices if you have an account. However, it has been updated to 2.0 and adds a ton of new features.

The big new feature is an in-app camera. This allows you to easily take pictures and edit them right away. The camera also features many pro adjustments and lets you capture pictures in JPEG or RAW formats. However, you can only capture the DNG raw format if your device allows for RAW capture. I tested it on my Galaxy S6 Edge, which doesn’t allow RAW capture from the stock camera, but it does work with the Lightroom camera. Also, the images taken with the Adobe camera can be saved and exported at full resolution.

Other new features are the Dehaze tool, which allows you to add or reduce the amount of haze in your photos, improved Tone Curve for better RGB adjustments, and Targeted Adjustment tool to change colors in specific areas. It even adds Split Toning, which I am very excited about.

At this time, the in-app camera is only for phones, but Adobe plans on bringing it to tablets soon. Although, we do not know exactly how soon. Also, in case you didn’t know, Adobe made Lightroom free for all to use in the last update.
