Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have already been approved by the FCC for use on all four major US carriers, but a screenshot from the filing has given a little more insight into the Galaxy S7 Edge.
Battery life is a major concern for both devices after the Galaxy S6 underwhelmed nearly everyone, so it’s good to get some confirmation that the Galaxy S7 Edge will likely have a 3600 mAh battery on-board, according to the FCC. The Galaxy S7 filing didn’t have any kind of screenshot to show its battery size, so no confirmation on the smaller variant of the device, but if rumors hold up we can still expect to see a pretty sizable 3,000 mAh battery there.
Samsung probably won’t bring removable batteries back, if the leaked photos of the device end up being accurate, but sticking massive batteries with fast charging and wireless charging in the phones will go a long way towards making that irrelevant.
We’re less than two weeks out from both devices becoming official, but there’s not much left that Samsung could surprise us with at this point.
