It goes without saying, LG has quite a lineup coming to Mobile World Congress this year, but that isn’t stopping the company from announcing more. The latest to be revealed is the LG K8, a decidedly mid-range handset with Marshmallow on-board.
LG announced the K4, K7, and K10 earlier this year at CES 2016, but the K8 sits right in between the K7 and K10. It’s most definitely a midranger, but the surprise is that it’s running Android 6.0 straight out of the box, which is something that’ll become more common in a few months time.
Here’s some of the specs the K8 is toting:
- 5-inch IPS display, 720p resolution
- MediaTek MT6735, a quad-core 64-bit chipset
- 1.5GB of RAM
- 8GB of on-board storage, microSD card slot
- 8MP rear camera, LED flash
- 5MP front-facing camera
- 2,125mAh battery
- 4G LTE
- Android 6.0 Marshmallow, LG UI atop
Besides that, there’s unfortunately not a whole lot of details. While it looks like the K8 will definitely be available in Hungary, there’s no firm details whether any other markets will be getting it or not. There’s also no details on pricing, but looking at the specs and the pricing of devices with similar specs, €150 – €200 off-contract would be a fair estimate.
We’ll hopefully hear more details soon, but in the meantime, all eyes are looking forward to something much bigger.
