Alcatel’s GO Play is now on sale

At IFA 2015, Alcatel OneTouch announced the GO Play for consumers who want to buy a durable phone at a very affordable price; however, the company’s rebranding at MWC 2016 put it in limbo. A release date was never provided at launch and Alcatel didn’t mentioned the GO Play in Barcelona last month. But today the GO Play, out of nowhere, went on sale. And it’s price is mighty attractive for those who dislike purchasing devices through carriers.

The GO Play has a 5-inch 720p TFT display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 8MP / 5MP cameras, a 2500mAh battery, and Android 5.0 Lollipop at the core. Its selling point, though, is in the design. Alcatel’s GO Play has IP67 certification, meaning it can handle water, dust, and shock. Whether you drop it in a pool or travel through a dust storm, the GO Play is ready and able to survive.

Alcatel is directly selling the phone for $199 with free shipping through the end of March, and all purchases of the GO Play will include a free ruggedized case. The GO Play comes in black while the color options for the case are blue, red, green, and black.
