PlayStation has announced that they are making their PlayStation Vue streaming media platform available across the nation in 203 new markets. The service makes a variety of networks, both live and on-demand, available to PlayStation Vue enabled devices. The new markets will have access to three different “Slim” multi-channel plans with pricing starting at only $29.99 per month.

In the previously launched cities where PlayStation Vue is present, users can select from the Slim plans or from some standard multi-channel plans. The difference between the two types of plans mainly has to do with the inclusion of network stations and live streams from them. For now, Slim subscriptions will only have video-on-demand (VOD) content delivered from ABC, FOX, and NBC. PlayStation Vue is working to add CBS to the list. Later, as PlayStation Vue is able to work out some deals, they plan to add live, local programming to the lineups.

At present PlayStation Vue offers three different Slim packages, including:

  • Access Slim: 55+ channels, including live cable TV, movies, and sports channels for $29.99 per month.
  • Core Slim: 70+ channels, including all the channels from Access Slim with the addition of national and regional sports networks for $34.99 per month.
  • Elite Slim: 100+ channels, featuring all the channels from Core Slim with the addition of more top movie and entertainment channels for $44.99 per month.

In addition to the channels available through Vue-enabled devices, subscribers have access to over 60 networks with mobile apps or websites at no additional charge by using their PlayStation Network ID. The current list of Vue-capable devices include the PS4, PS3, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, iPad and iPhone. Google Chromecast is only supported via iOS devices.

Anyone using PlayStation Vue or planning to sign up?
