Spotify is ready to make its next big move: expansion into Asian markets. Indonesia will be the first region to get the service in Asian territories, according to a tweet from Spotify.
March 30 is the date set for the official Spotify launch in Indonesia. Here’s the official tweet from the music streaming service:

Indonesia won’t be the only Asian country getting the music streaming service, though. According to a new report from TechCrunch, Spotify will be making its way to Japan and India in the coming months as well, though its worth nothing that India is only an exploratory interest. This is largely because of how competitive the India market is for music streaming services already.
Local music streaming providers like Saavn and Gaana are very big over in India, not to even mention that Apple Music launched over there not too long ago either. That said, Spotify could have a hard time making a name for itself in India.
Spotify hasn’t said anything official about India or Japan yet, but what we do know for sure is that the service will be launching in Indonesia in just a few days.
We’ll hopefully hear more details soon.
