As of late, we’re seeing people put the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge through different durability tests. The world is just so curious to see whether or not Samsung’s new flagship can handle scenarios both usual and odd. On March 1, the Galaxy S7 Edge was put through a torture test and then faced a drop test against Apple’s iPhone 6S Plus. Shortly after, the phone was scratched with a knife and slammed by a hammer, a test that has been viewed by more than 3.5 million people. Somehow, despite the extreme degree of these tests, Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge seems to survive and remain usable.
The latest test we’re getting comes from Max Lee on YouTube. Lee is putting the Galaxy S7 in a washing machine, which is made by LG, to see how the IP68 rating holds up.

After washing for a full cycle of 45 minutes, the Galaxy S7 works as expected. The only thing that ceased full operation was the responsiveness of the fingerprint scanner. Other than that, the phone continued working like new.
Aiding in the survival of the Galaxy S7 here are rubber seals around ports and a screen behind the speaker. It repels water and prevents it from getting inside the phone, which would obviously cause serious damage.
