Samsung has begun pushing out a new update to both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, bringing a bevy of new improvements and fixes.
The update, according to a report from SamMobile, is rolling out right now, but only in select regions for the time being. The software build is seen as XXU1APD1, and obviously those with units from carriers will be waiting a longer period of time before receiving the new update.
This update focuses on touch improvements, enhancing palm rejection on the display, as well as some other bits for the Galaxy S7 Edge. This makes the S7 Edge (and S7) much easier to use with one hand, as the “Edge” screen has caused a lot of touch mishaps in the past.
There’s also a new shape correction feature for photos. It’s a fairly straightforward feature: once you turn it on, it will try to correct the shape of distorted elements. We haven’t gotten to test this feature for ourselves just yet, but it should prove to be useful in some situation. You’ll be able to toggle this feature on and off in the Camera settings.
The update comes in at a whopping 156MB. If you haven’t gotten the prompt to download the update, you can do so by heading into Settings > About Phone > Check for updates. If not, it should be hitting your device in a matter of days.
