ASUS to launch the ‘Zenvolution’ at end of month

ASUS has announced a new press event for May 30th in conjunction with the Computex 2016 event in Taiwan. ASUS has setup a countdown page for the event they have dubbed the Zenvolution. ASUS does not drop any hints with their countdown page, although we expect the launch of the Zenfone 3 line of devices to be one of the items covered during the streaming event.

ASUS does include an Intel logo on the page, but that could be related to any one of several product lines that ASUS produces. ASUS uses an Intel processor in the Zenfone 2 device, so it would not be unexpected to see them stick with Intel for the new line of devices.

ASUS has also indicated in the past that they have plans to add a fingerprint sensor to the Zenfone 3 now that prices for the hardware have dropped. The company apparently plans to incorporate a USB Type-C port as well.

Other than those bits of information, not much else is known about plans for the Zenfone 3 series. However, an earlier leak of a device believed to be a Zenfone 3 Deluxe suggests ASUS will have more than one variant available.

ASUS revised expected smartphone sales down slightly for 2016 due to the lack of a new device being available in the market during the first half of the year. They will be looking for big sales numbers from the Zenfone 3 line once it is launched, so it should be a decent set of devices to entice buyers.
