Alarm.com on Monday announced plans for smart home voice control for lighting and smart thermostats through Amazon Echo and Amazon’s cloud-based voice service, Alexa.
Users will be able to control lighting and other comfort factors in their homes using simple voice commands such as “Alexa, turn on the living room lights.” Additionally, users will be able to create custom controls and Alarm.com plans to expand voice control through Alexa’s Skills Kit.
Said Jay Kenny, Alarm.com’s senior vice president of marketing:
“Alarm.com integrates devices across the home into a single solution, which we are making easier to use every day through intuitive apps and new user experiences that go beyond the traditional app.”
