The Presence camera from Netatmo has been revealed at CES 2016, featuring real-time Smart-Sight technology that detects people, cars and animals.
Netatmo aims to provide a ‘better and connected lifestyle’ with the Presence, the outdoor security camera that keeps homes safe by alerting owners when it senses movement.
Smart-Sight is said to be the star of the show, demonstrating ‘revolutionary’ technology that identifies what the camera is seeing and then alerts users with smart notifications. Detection alerts can be set up for various zones around the house.
Presence captures full 1080p HD video and users can watch live footage from the free Presence app, which arrives on tablet, PC, Mac and Apple Watch. The camera itself, which has a range detection of up to 20m, connects through WiFi, and videos are stored locally on the gadget’s internal micro SD card.
Speaking about the Presence, Fred Potter, Founder and CEO of Netatmo, said:
“Presence goes way beyond existing outdoor security solutions on the market. As the only consumer outdoor security system using a sophisticated deep learning technology, Smart-Sight, Presence is able to analyse and report precisely what’s happening outside the home.”
Netatmo’s security system also sports an infra-red night vision camera and smart floodlight, which Netatmo has said can be used to scare off unwanted visitors. Bright colour videos can be captured even during the evening, which is good news for buyers looking for around-the-clock protection.
The Presence will be available in the third quarter of 2016. At the time of writing, there’s no word on pricing.
