Instead of the normal $99 annual subscription fee, Amazon Prime memberships will cost only $73 this weekend for new subscribers.
If you have already paid your annual subscription fee, there’s nothing you can do. However, new users can sign up for Prime this weekend and get their first year for only $73. The deal will remain active from January 15th at 9pm PT through January 17th at 11:59pm PT.
You might be wondering why $73? As it turns out, the price tag is due in part by Amazon’s win at the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards that took place this week. Hence, the $73 cost. With Amazon Prime you’ll have access to a wide variety of books, movies and shows along with unlimited photo storage and ad-free music streaming. You’ll also get Amazon’s 2-day shipping service, which is great if you buy lots from the company’s website like me. Best of all, the benefits are getting better each and every year. It’s also worth noting that during the same period, Amazon’s big winner Mozart in the Jungle will be free to watch on Amazon Video.
It’s not every week you see Amazon’s Prime service get a discounted price, so if you’re looking to try it out, this weekend may be the best time to start.
