BlackBerry’s first android-powered handset, the BlackBerry Priv, has been on the market for a few months now. However, it has only been available in select regions. Today, BlackBerry was thrilled to announce that it’s expanding the Priv’s availability to more countries.
Up until today, the BlackBerry Priv was limited to the United States, Germany, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Even here in the United States it could only be purchased through one carrier (AT&T), therefore severely limiting its market capabilities.
As of today, one can purchase the BlackBerry Priv in three new countries including Spain, the Netherlands and Italy. BlackBerry’s website has already been updated to ship to these added regions.
Over the next few quarters we should get a better picture on how well the BlackBerry Priv is doing and its impacts on the company. Remember, if all goes well we could see a new BlackBerry android-powered handset in 2016.
