Coolpad, a telecommunications company based in Shenzhen, is the latest company committed to protecting its customers. Moving forward, the company will push monthly security updates to select phones. This means Coolpad is joining Samsung, BlackBerry, LG, and HTC in following Google’s lead to ensure a person’s mobile device is secure and free of vulnerabilities.
Here is Coolpad’s explanation:
To protect the safety and security of people using Coolpad phones, Coolpad started to provide security software updates on a monthly basis, starting with Coolpad Y90-G00, T2-00, and ivvi SS1-03, from November 2015 and will include more models soon. Security patch level can be easily found in settings UI in these devices. Coolpad will continue to provide end users with more secure mobile phone products and more perfect security services.
Although the company is starting with a very small number of phones being supported, Coolpad will add more over time.
