Nubia, a smartphone manufacturing unit of ZTE, launched their new web site today and announced plans to expand into at least eight new markets in the upcoming year during their CES 2016 event. To help the company along with their expansion plans, Nubia also announced that Suning Rundong, a commercial corporation from China, is investing RMB 1.93 billion ($297 million USD) in Nubia and will receive a 33.3 percent stake in Nubia shares. At CES 2016, Nubia will be showing off the Z9 and My PRAGUE series of devices at the ZTE booth along with some photos taken with their devices.
Nubia plans to expand into Mexico, Argentina, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Malaysia and Thailand during 2016. These new markets will join existing locations where Nubia operates around the globe. During 2015 Nubia grew by 100 percent, doubling sales to 10 million units. Besides the expansion into new markets, Nubia launched a new, dedicated web site in Chinese, English and Spanish with plans to offer more languages in the future. Nubia has plans to open an online store through the site so that customers in Europe can make their purchases direct from Nubia with other markets joining in at a later time.
In addition to the expansion of their business and growth as a more independent part of ZTE, Nubia is providing demos of their smartphones at CES 2016, including their My PRAGUE devices and the Z9. To help highlight some of the camera features and capabilities of their devices, Nubia is also displaying photos taken with their smartphones, like an image of the Milky Way, which they claim is the first taken by a smartphone. They will also be highlighting the star trail and light painting functions, manual exposure, and independent focus features.
Nubia’s top smartphones include the Z9, a 5.2-inch display device running on a Snapdragon 810 processor with 3 or 4 GB of RAM and a 16MP camera with optical image stabilization. For the mid-range market, Nubia offers the Z9 Mini Elite which sports a 5.0-inch screen and runs on a Snapdragon 615 processor with 3 GB of RAM and has a 16MP camera. The company also offers the My PRAGUE smartphone, a 5.2-inch device with a Snapdragon 615 processor and either 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM. Both of the mid-range devices have microSD slots for storage expansion, but the Z9 only comes in 32 GB or 64 GB configurations. All of the devices have displays running at 1080p full HD resolution.

In the coming months, besides uneveiling its new flagship smartphones, nubia will launch its official online store. Customers in Europe will soon be able to purchase nubia devices directly online. The e-commerce platform will continue to launch in other markets shortly after.
