Although the Marshmallow update won’t completely change the interface’s look, it will add some new features and improvements worth noticing. One of the biggest new features is adoptable storage, which lets users add any SD card or USB storage device to the device’s storage just as if it was internal space.
SHIELD Android TV owners will also notice that their homescreen is now completely customizable. The Play Store also underwent some tweaks. It’s now better organized into categories and puts what’s most important right upfront. The last improvement only applies to new owners. The setup process has been eased and can be entirely done using a mobile device. NVIDIA has also made the factory reset option more accessible and easy to complete.
NVIDIA hasn’t given us a specific date for the rollout, but promises it will be arriving very soon.
