To coincide with the launch of the Gear S2 Classic in China, Samsung is rolling out a fantastic little update for its Gear companion application. The upgrade doesn’t bring a slew of changes or any overhauls to the platform, but it does make some modest alterations that are designed to improve a user’s experience when customising their watch.
The most notable addition this upgrade brings is a shiny new battery meter, located in the Settings section of the application. When opened, the meter displays the current battery level of your Gear S2, along with three easy pointers on how to improve its battery life.
The update weighs in at a modest 32MB, which means that it can be downloaded and installed within a matter of seconds. To fetch it, simply open up either the Play Store or Galaxy Apps on your smartphone, locate Samsung Gear and hit the green Update button.
