Mo Versi, VP of Product Management at HTC, took to Twitter today to reveal that the January security update is currently being rolled out to unlocked One A9 owners in the US.
The update is being pushed out over-the-air (OTA), so users should begin seeing it within the next couple of days. Unfortunately, those with a carrier-branded device aren’t going to see the update for some time. After all, updates like these go through a lengthy and rigorous approval process before being pushed out to a carrier’s network.
At this point, there’s no firm date on when the One M9 will get the same update.
As per the norm, this January security update will fix a bunch of current security-related exploits and fix some other known bugs. If you haven’t gotten the update yet, you can, as always, check for it manually under Setting > About Phone.
