Xiaomi’s annual smartphone sales fall short of estimates

Xiaomi’s smartphone sales growth improved drastically leading up to the start of 2015. However, things have calmed down a bit now. Based on a Weibo post, Xiaomi experienced a stall in growth over the 2015 year.

It was only a matter of time before Xiaomi’s exponential growth slowed, and 2015 was that time. Prior to the 2015 year, Xiaomi estimated what its annual sales report would look like. Unfortunately, the results failed to reach even the most conservative predictions.

In 2015, Xiaomi sold a total of 70 million smartphones. This was far lower than the 80-100 million units that the company anticipated to sell. The numbers are still up from years prior, they just didn’t grow as much as Xiamoi had wanted. In 2014, Xiaomi managed to sell 61 million smartphones. With the 70 million that sold in 2015, Xiaomi’s growth accounted for about 15%. Xiaomi blamed the lack of expansion in 2015, which gave the company an advantage in 2014 when it hit the Indian territory. Let’s see what Xiaomi forecasts for 2016, and if it can achieve its goal.

For a look back at the company’s annual sale history dating back to 2012, analyze the graph down below.
