Motorola fans should be a little more excited than usual today. Those of you with a Verizon Moto X (2014) will now be able to unlock the bootloader on your phone.
The news comes directly from a Motorola Forums Manager,
Hey, everyone. Just wanted to let you know that we did get the green light to unlock the bootloader on Verizon 2014 Moto X (2nd Gen) devices. Unfortunately, we can’t do this for devices on other carriers.
Finally users will be able to do things like flash new ROMs, potentially install Android 6.0, as well as other things. However, the unlocking process will still void your warranty.
