If you own a Sony Xperia device and live in the UK, listen up! Android 6.0 could be on its way to your device!
We just received confirmation that Sony will begin rolling out the Android 6.0 software update on March 7th to select Xperia devices in the UK. The devices getting it include the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z4 Tablet, and Xperia Z3+. It’s rare that Sony announces an exact day for a software release, but it’s good for us because we can plan ahead.
The update will roll out in waves so if you don’t receive it right when your alarm goes off, don’t panic. The update should come in at a hefty size considering all the new features, fixes, and implementations. These include simplified app permissions, Now On Tap, and doze, for saving battery when on standby. Make sure you connect to a Wi-Fi network prior to downloading and installing so you don’t exceed your monthly data allowance. Let’s hope the update hits more regions shortly thereafter.
