Samsung just took wraps off a new mid-range 14nm Exynos 7 Octa 7870 processor.
Earlier today Samsung expanded upon its wide range of different chipsets. This new processor is designed to bring mid-range devices to the next stage. The Exynos 7870 processor is an octa-core SoC with Samsung’s most advanced 14nm FinFet processing technology, which is some of the best out there.
Samsung is expected to announce multiple mid-range handsets running the latest Exynos 7 Octa processor later this year, as it normally does when it comes out with something new. The processor is said to bring a substantial increase in performance to mid-range devices, that will hopefully set the company apart from the remainder of the mid-range crowd that has really come on in the recent months. You can expect to see some new mid-rangers out of Samsung soon, maybe as early as MWC 2016. Only time will tell.
What do you think, is it too early in the year for Samsung to start renewing its mid-range lineups? Let us know in the comments.
