BlackBerry might launch a second Android phone at MWC 2016

A few months back, we heard the possibility that BlackBerry was working on a new Android-powered handset. As it turns out, the handset could be just a few days away from releasing.

Based on a rumor published early today, BlackBerry might announce a new Android-powered handset called the Vienna at the upcoming MWC 2016 show in Barcelona. Rather than having a slide-out keyboard like the BlackBerry Priv, the Vienna’s keyboard is always exposed. From what we’ve heard, BlackBerry is going all in for Android moving forward, and this will likely be the next step.

The BlackBerry Priv is yet to make it to all four major U.S. carriers and BlackBerry’s next device already appears to be in the works. The Vienna is expected to include a 5-inch display with a Full HD resolution. The Snapdragon 820 processor is likely, and should be paired with 3GB of RAM. An 18MP rear-facing camera is also on the list of possible specs. Please remember that this is just a rumor. We haven’t seen leaks showing off the device yet nor any benchmark listings, so I would say the odds are very much stacked against it. However, if we hear of anything, we’ll let you know as soon as it happens.
