The Marshmallow update for the Moto E (2015) is now rolling out over-the-air in India.
There hasn’t been any official world from Motorola or Lenovo, but Android Police is reporting that a number of users are sending over screenshots showing that Android 6.0 is ready to download on the smartphone.
As a quick refresher, Marshmallow brings all of the usual handy features, such as Doze, App Permissions, and Google Now on Tap. However, things are slightly different with Marshmallow for Moto handsets, as Motorola chose to nix a few of its preinstalled apps, such as Moto Assist and Moto Migrate. This is largely because the features of these applications have now been integrated inside Android, and thus, the apps themselves aren’t very useful.
Unfortunately, despite the Moto E (2015) getting Marshmallow in India, the US variant won’t be getting the same update, as Motorola announced not too long ago.
Motorola recently pushed out the same Marshmallow update to the Moto G (2014) in India.
If you haven’t been prompted to download the OTA yet, be sure to head into Settings > About Phone to check for the update manually.
