Vivo has confirmed the release date for its Xplay 5 smartphone in a new teaser image. March 1st will be the day.
Instead of releasing its Xplay 5 next week, Vivo has decided to bypass MWC 2016 and hold an event of their own not too long from now. The official unveiling will take place on March 1st at 19:30 local time, and will be located at the Beijing Water Cube.
Based on past leaks and rumors, the Xplay 5 will have a curved display, similar to that on Samsung’s latest Galaxy Edge models. According to sources, the screen has been described as “boarderless,” indicating a dual-edge display or something similar. Other specs that we might see include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 6GB of RAM, a new kind of charging technology, a whopping 31MP camera, and a super slim profile. However, nothing has been confirmed, so take this with a grain of salt. Hopefully we’ll hear more about the upcoming handset’s design and hardware specs as we get closer to its official unveiling.
