Xiaomi Mi 5 leaks again, specs depict a possible 6GB of RAM

As you may know, Xiaomi is planning to announce its Mi 5 flagship smartphone next week at MWC 2016. Today, we got another look at the handset’s design in a leaked image and were able to confirm a slew of specs.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 may be the first handset from the company to be sold internationally, but that remains to be heard. Based on the newly leaked image, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will come in a white color option. However, judging from a recent leak, the handset will launch in a variety of other colors as well.

We also got a leaked image containing some of the device’s own specifications. We’re pretty confident that the Mi 5 will have a 5.2-inch display and run a Snapdragon 820 SoC from Qualcomm. At this point, we can almost guarantee both a 16MP rear-facing camera and a 4MP front-facing camera. We’re also expecting a 2,910 mAh battery, USB Type-C for charging, laser auto-focusing, and a fingerprint scanner.

Based on the latest leak, there could be two storage options with different quantities of RAM. The 32GB model could contain 4GB of RAM, while the 64GB option sports a whopping 6GB of RAM. Either variant should get you some nice performance with some smooth multi-tasking. This could be the first handset with 6GB of RAM we know of, if Xiaomi somehow figures out a way to implement it. We’ll see what we get in only a few days time.
