Xiaomi has shared some details on its 10,000mAh Powerbank Pro, which is smart enough to work out what’s plugged into it and adjust voltage levels accordingly.

The super-slim, super-clever charging accessory will be launching ‘soon’ in China at a remarkable bargain price of around $22, although we’re yet to hear details about Western availability.

The Xiaomi Mi Powerbank Pro fully supports USB Type-C charging and has a maximum input of 18W. According to some lab tests done by the technology group, average charge times using the Powerbank Pro were up to 25% quicker than an ‘ordinary 5V/2A Mi Powerbank’.

This latest release from Xiaomi weights just 223 grams and is 12.6mm thick, which is impressive considering the power it’s packing inside.

To put the charge levels of the Powerbank Pro into perspective, Xiaomi says that the accessory could charge a Mi Note almost three times over, an iPhone 6 four times over and an iPad mini almost twice fully.

Taking user feedback into account, the Powerbank Pro’s makers have made efforts to improve the user experience when charging smaller devices. By double tapping on the charger’s power button, it’s possible to juice up products with a smaller voltage.

Interestingly, the Powerbank Pro itself takes just 3.5 hours to charge fully, as it ships with an ‘ultra fast’ 18W charger.

Our fingers are crossed that the Powerbank Pro makes the trip over to the West eventually.

If the charging accessory is an impressive as Xiaomi makes it sound, then it’ll be an invaluable piece of tech boasting great value for money.
