So, you’ve just received your brand new, top-of-the-line, Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge smartphone, and a feature you’ve been looking forward to using, Samsung Pay, is nowhere to be seen. If this is your experience, you probably bought the handset from Verizon. The good news is that you can easily remedy the situation yourself, and it will only take a couple of minutes to do so.This is a case where the ability to side-load applications on Android comes in handy. First, navigate to Settings/System/Security and tick the Unknown Sources box. Then, all you need to do is download the Samsung Pay APK from APK Mirror to your Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge and select install. It really is that simple.
Quite why the Samsung Pay app is missing from the Galaxy S7 devices is anyone’s guess. Verizon took ages to support Samsung Pay in the first place, and one wonders if the carrier’s involvement with competing mobile payments systems such as SoftCard has something to do with the app’s omission from the handsets.
If side-loading isn’t something you feel comfortable with, it’s mooted that Samsung will be holding a major Samsung Pay promotion from March 11th, where it’s thought that the app will become available for download from either Google’s Play Store, or Galaxy Apps. If true, there isn’t too long wait.
