Sony announced today that its PlayStation VR Launch Bundle would be up for pre-order on March 22.
This PlayStation VR Launch Bundle will be available for pre-order at 7:00am Pacific Daylight Time for $500 at participating retailers.
Sony just the other day officially announced a launch window for the PlayStation VR, noting that October 2016 is the company’s target date. The headset, by itself, will cost $400.
However, this “Launch Bundle,” costing $500, comes with a bunch of extra goodies:
- PlayStation VR Headset
- PlayStation VR Cables
- Stereo Headphones
- PlayStation VR Demo Disc
- PlayStation Camera
- 2 PlayStation Move Motion Controllers
- PlayStation VR Worlds Game
Sony also noted that this bundle will be available in Canada for $700 CAD. Pre-orders do open on March 22, but it will only be up for pre-order for a short amount of time. Sony says that they’ll open up another pre-order wave at some point during the summer for those who missed out.
While this PlayStation VR Launch Bundle is available for pre-order, pre-orders for just the PlayStation VR itself have not gone up yet.
The PlayStation VR will launch in October, but it will require the PlayStation Camera to work, and the Move Motion Controllers will no doubt be required for some games. That said, this bundle is a nice deal for those that don’t already own these accessories. But, if you already own them, you’re better off waiting until the PlayStation VR goes up for pre-order itself.
