Acer’s newest phone, announced at today’s Next@Acer event, is called the Liquid Zest Plus. No, seriously! That’s really what the phone’s name is.

Hit the break for the zesty details.

At the New York City press event, the company introduced a mid-range phone with a massive battery and an interestingly bizarre name. Acer’s Liquid Zest Plus has a 5.5-inch 720p display and MediaTek processor with 2GB of RAM, but the real standout feature of this device is the battery. It’s likely that the phone will run for days because of the 5000mAh battery, which approaches the size you normally see in a tablet.

Key specifications:

  • 5.5-inch 720p display
  • MediaTek processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB of internal storage
  • 13MP rear camera
  • 5000mAh battery
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Those are the only specifications we know of at the moment. Regarding the camera, it has been revealed that a trio of technologies are present — laser autofocus, phase detection, and contrast detection.

While the 720p resolution probably won’t be very nice on a large display, the massive battery and latest version of Android sure are attractive. If the Liquid Zest Plus is offered worldwide and carries a low price, Acer might just have itself a quiet victory. Just because high-end specifications are missing, the phone shouldn’t be considered a disappointment.

The Acer Liquid Zest Plus will be available soon in white and dark blue, and the price tag should come in under $250.
