YouTube gets a new interface overlay on Android

Version 11.13 of the YouTube application on Android brings a new interface overlay.

YouTube’s new interface overlay is a bit hard to notice, but is there. When watching a video, YouTube now displays the title of that particular video along with its current number of views in the upper left-hand corner. The channel that uploaded the video is also now displayed there. Don’t worry though, the overlay will fade away five seconds and only shows when you tap the screen when the video is ongoing. This includes when the video is paused.

The update is only coming to those with the Android version of the app, but may hit other mobile platforms later on. As of now, the only way to get it is by downloading the latest APK at the source link down below. If you’re patient enough and could wait, the new version should start rolling out automatically in the weeks ahead.
