While the Huawei P9 launched just over a month ago at an event in London, the handset has only recently started shipping out to the people who placed pre-orders. The Huawei P9 has an official RRP of £449, but the UK carrier, GiffGaff, were offering it on Pay As You Go for as little as £369 last week. We thought that was pretty good at the time, but it’s actually possible to get the P9 even cheaper, for just £300 plus top-up in fact.
It’s crazy, but Vodafone UK is offering the Huawei P9 for just £300 plus top-up on PAYG, that’s a saving of around 33% over the RRP. You can choose between getting the P9 in Silver or Quartz Grey, and according to the info on the site, the P9 will ship in 1-2 weeks.
For your money, you’ll be getting a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a HiSilicon Kirin 955 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and MicroSD card support. There’s the much talked about dual 12MP camera setup on the rear of the handset, with an 8MP front-facing camera. There’s also a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and a USB Type-C charging port.
On the software side of things, the P9 runs Android 6.0.1 out of the box, with Huawei’s EMUI skin running on top. If you don’t like the EMotion UI launcher, you can always choose to change to a third party launcher, as demonstrated in the video below.
What do you think? At £300 (plus top-up) the P9 represents fantastic value. So, does the Huawei P9 tempt you? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
