Xiaomi has plans to hold a launch event later this week on May 10th when they will announce the new Xiaomi Mi Max smartphone. Unlike so many other companies, Xiaomi does not seem to be particularly interested in keeping images of the device closely guarded. Not only has Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun posted images of the device via Weibo, we now have the company posting official teaser videos that include a starring role for the device as opposed to subtle hints and innuendo.
Each of the videos for the Mi Max Launch Event is titled as an “Episode” with three episodes available on YouTube. However, each video actually includes the equivalent of two commercials which may make the count of episodes six if you want to look at it that way.
The videos are in Chinese, so it is a bit difficult to figure out what the storyline might be, if there is one. That could be questionable since some of the videos do not seem to include any kind of relationship to the other videos. That may not be important though as the main point is to see the new Mi Max in the hands of the characters in the videos.
Despite the recent images and now these teaser videos, Xiaomi will still be sharing the specs for the new Mi Max and we should get our first looks at the new MIUI 8 interface in action during the launch event. Until then, check out the teaser videos below.
