Yesterday, LG sent out invites to a press event it’s holding on Thursday, February 21 in Barcelona, Spain. Unfortunately, the South Korean company didn’t offer up any information with regards to what it would be unveiling at the conference, but today it did shed a little light on the upcoming announcement by teasing that it’s gearing up to take the wraps off a “major smartphone”, which it will be displaying at Mobile World Congress.
Sadly, LG didn’t provide any juicy details, so we’re still in the dark about what handset it actually is. We presume that it will be the much-anticipated G Flex 3. Although, it’s usually around this time of the year that the manufacturer releases the latest iteration of its curved self-healing handset. However, it’s perfectly possible that we could see the long-awaited flagship G5 take center stage, seeing as the rumor mill has been spinning at warp speed these past couple of months.
If the company is planning on revealing the G5, we’re certainly in for a treat. Recent speculation points towards the unit packing a 5K display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 20-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 3,000mAh removable Li-Ion battery
Whatever the case may be, we’re excited to see what LG has up its sleeve for its latest smartphone, and we’re sure you are, too. As usual, keep your browser pointed to Talk Android as we’ll be bringing you live coverage of the event, and reporting any news as and when it breaks.
