Samsung has lifted the lid on its new program that aims to improve security for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge with an enhanced mobile suite.
The news, arriving today, shows that the smartphone group is focused on using its security platform KNOX for its latest handsets.
Integration of KNOX will essentially mean that business folk can use their personal mobile for both work and play, eliminating the need for a separate ‘work phone’. According to Samsung, the platform is best described as a solution for employees looking to stay in line with their company’s mobile security policies.
Discussing the move further, Samsung’s Dr. Injong Rhee, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D, said:
“Samsung is giving enterprises and professionals the most productive and secure mobility experience available on the market today.”
“We believe that the robustness of Android, along with the award winning security benefits of Samsung KNOX will help bring a new level of productivity for businesses that cannot be matched.”
Samsung’s Enterprise Device Program consists of two key features, arriving in the form of monthly security updates and a two-year device purchase program.
Samsung says that the monthly security downloads are ‘critical’ and ideal for maximizing productivity. Android for Work is already a trusted platform, and Samsung is further reinforcing it with the help of KNOX.
Meanwhile, Enterprise customers are now able to jump on a two-year assurance program for select devices including the new Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Customers can purchase the same device model ‘up to two years from the device’s market availability’.
