With the soon to be released Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, there have been countless leaks leading up to the launch. As you can see from the picture above, we have just seen a possible leak for the backs of the new devices.
We already saw a possible leak of the front of these devices and now we are seeing the backs. From the looks of them, they seem quite similar to the current S6 design. However, the backs of these two new devices look like they will be curved like on the Note 5. The reason I say this is because of the two white areas on the side edges. A designer would never include those on a flat device, but would add them to show something curves and light is reflecting off of it.
An example of this would be the front of the possibly leaked S7 and S7 Edge. The image on the right is the S7 Edge, and as you can see, the edges have the exact same curve light marks while the regular S7 on the left does not because its display is flat.
I personally own an S6 Edge and would much prefer a slightly curved backed device over a flat back. The edges are hard to hold and it does not feel the most ergonomic in your hand. A rear curved edge back would provide a much better grip and feel. However, the edges are already so thin on the Edge version I would be shocked if they could curve the back as well as the front without making the device much thicker. We have heard reports of long lasting batteries in these new Samsung phones, maybe they will achieve this by making the phones thicker to allow larger batteries, but curving the backs to make them feel thin?
