During its Unpacked event last night, Samsung revealed that it has baked a nifty new software tweak into the firmware that will ship on board both its recently-announced flagship smartphones of 2016, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. This feature is called Whitepages and automatically filters any spam or fraudulent calls, thus making it easier than ever to avoid cold callers.
The service is very similar to the caller identification functionality that’s integrated into the stock Dialer application for Android in the sense that it will provide you with an accurate description of who’s calling based on any business listings on Google, which is pretty handy if you’re waiting for a call from a company and you don’t have their number stored in your contacts.

Unfortunately, you will need to be in either Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom or the United States to take advantage of Whitepages. It’s unclear whether Samsung will expand the service to other regions, but we certainly hope it will.
