US Cellular announced that it will be opening pre-orders for the LG G5 later this month in anticipation of a April 1 launch.
As a quick reminder, the LG G5 is sporting Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor, a 5.3-inch Quad HD display, a fingerprint scanner, and a rear 16-megapixel camera. It’s also got a 2,800mAh removable battery with some other modular options.
LG after announcing its new G5 flagship smartphone at Mobile World Congress sent Talk Android an email saying that the LG G5 will launch in early April. While US Cellular is the first carrier to officially announce a launch date, other carriers are expected to launch the smartphone around the same time.
US Cellular will open pre-orders on March 26 and will probably begin sending out orders to meet that April 1 launch date.
For those interested, the LG G5 will cost $636 off-contract or $200 on a two-year contract. Alternatively, US Cellular has device payment plans available, allowing eligible customers to pay $26.50 per month for 24 months on the device.
We’ll hopefully hear more details on specific carrier availability from the likes of AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and others soon.
