Huawei’s Honor brand and Amazon are collaborating for a special live concert at SXSW 2016 in Austin. Right now, the two are co-hosting Honor 5X and Prime Music Present: SXSW Accoustic Daybreak.
Blue October, Teddy Thompson & Kelly Jones, Ruby the Rabbitfoot, Freedom Fry, and Shaprece are all performing.
The two companies are using SXSW to promote the Honor 5X, the new mid-range flagship being sold in the United States, and Amazon’s Prime Music streaming service that provides ad-free access to millions of songs and thousands of stations. When Prime Music launched in 2014, I found it to be underwhelming as other free music streaming services were capable of matching or exceeding its performance. Now, more than a year later, Prime Music has matured into a solid service accessible with an Amazon Prime members.
