An attendee at a recent SXSW panel captured some footage of Pokemon Go in action, showing the virtual monsters spawning in real-life surroundings.

The clip, which has been uploaded to YouTube, has now been viewed almost 2 million times, which is a rather clear reminder that the Pokemon universe is still massively popular around the world.

Showing off the highly anticipated game in action, the footage shows a player capturing a creature in their own surroundings, with the help of augmented reality technology.

The gamer is seen cycling through different types of Pokeball as they decide which one to try out, eventually managing to complete the mission and then being told about their new capture.

At the time of writing, information on a potential release date and price for Pokemon Go is yet to be revealed.

Even so, it’s great to finally see Pokemon Go in action. Whilst the clip we’re looking at isn’t the longest ever, it does give some insight into how real-world environments will be used to shape the game universe.

For now, we’ll try and wait patiently for more news on the upcoming Pokemon experience.
