YouTube user JerryRigEverything, known for the Nexus 6P controversy, has put together the first ever torture test for the Galaxy S7 Edge, testing if it will bend, scratch, and even burn.

These sort of torture tests, for some reason, have become something everybody looks forward to in order to see if the next hottest smartphone can live up to our strict durability standards.

JerryRigEverything puts the Galaxy S7 Edge through a series of tests, the first being the scratch test. He lays out a piece of paper with the numbers 1 through 9 written on it. Under each number, he gradually increases the hardness of the scratch to determine how much pressure it would take for the display to begin seeing some noticeable grooves. It didn’t make it all the way through the entire test, as scratches started becoming visible at the 6th scratch.

The next test is the burn test. All he does is takes a lighter to the phone and holds it steady at certain points for a couple of seconds. The results aren’t nearly as bad as they have been in the past with other smartphone.

Last up is the bend test, the test everyone looks forward to after the iPhone “Bendgate” phenomenon. Suffice to say, no matter how much pressure was applied, the smartphone wouldn’t bend, though a seal did break, meaning the smartphone won’t be very water resistant anymore.

You can check out the video for yourself below.

One thing’s for certain, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is a durable smartphone, and may just be the best smartphone we see this year, especially with it already breaking pre-order records.
