Huawei will hold a March 9 event in Berlin, Germany, P9 could be on the horizon

Huawei has begun sending out invites to the press for an even in Berlin, Germany on March 9, where the company is expected to finally unveil the Huawei P9.

The invite is simple in nature, though we’re not exactly sure what beer has to do with it other than Germany, more specifically Berlin, being known for its great tasting beers. Huawei didn’t offer up any more details than that, though we’re expecting to see the long rumored P9 at the event, as well as some other handsets in the P9 family (e.g. a P9 Lite and P9 Max).

To bring you up to speed, the most recent rumors are indicating that the Huawei P9 will sport a 5.2-inch Full HD (1920×1080) display, an in-house Kirin 950 octa-core CPU and a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. With it, there should be a whopping 3GB of RAM and Android 6.0 should be onboard. Of course, Android 6.0 will no doubt be put backstage as Huawei’s own custom-made skin will be front and center.

Interestingly, the smartphone should have two 12-megapixel rear cameras, thanks to a recent partnership with Leico.

Sit tight, folks. We’ve still got about a week to go before the P9 is revealed, and rumors and leaks are bound to ramp up before then.

What are you looking forward to most in Huawei’s next smartphone?
