Near the end of last week, U.S. carrier Verizon started selling the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) for $168. Now, AT&T has made the same phone available on its wireless service.
Those on AT&T or looking to join AT&T have a new low-cost option in that of the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016). It costs $169 free of any contracts, which is $1 more than what Verizon is charging for it. If you don’t want to pay full retail all at once, AT&T is letting you signup with monthly installments, which comes in three options of 30 months, 24 months, and 20 months. If you choose the 30 month option, you’ll be paying $5.67 per month on top of the price for calls, texts and data. 24 months will run you $7.09 per month and 20 months costs $8.50 each month. All options add up to the same price in the end.
As a specs recap, the Galaxy J3 (2016) features a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display. It’s powered by a Exynos 3475 SoC and a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz. 1.5GB of RAM is onboard along with 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded with the use of a microSD card. It contains a 5MP rear-facing camera and a lesser 2MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats. Marshmallow is pre-loaded.
