Here’s when Samsung’s Galaxy series will get Android 6.0

Lots of Galaxy users including myself have been waiting patiently for Android 6.0. Not too far back we heard that the update began rolling out to unlocked Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge units. Samsung’s latest Galaxy S7 duo will have it pre-loaded.

Thanks to Phone Arena, we obtained an updated roadmap as to when Samsung will unfold Android 6.0 on its devices. If you have a high-end Samsung smartphone that came out last year, there’s a good chance you’re getting the Android 6.0 update soon. However, this doesn’t mean older devices won’t be getting it. It may just be a longer wait.

Starting with March, as said previously, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge are already receiving the update and are listed as ‘uploading.’ The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ are listed to get the update this month as well, but are in the ‘testing’ phase. April will be when the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge get their updates, which have just been ‘approved.’ The Galaxy S5 that launched two years ago is also listed as ‘approved,’ and will be updated sometime in May, with the Galaxy Alpha following it in June. The Galaxy Tab S2 slates are listed as ‘testing,’ but the date is cut out of the image. If they’re in the testing phase already, it probably won’t be as long as some of the older smartphones. Sources say that May will be the likely time for a rollout. If your Samsung device isn’t listed, expect the Summer if ever.

What device are you waiting on? Let us know in the comments.
