Oculus Rift pre-orders begin shipping, set for March 28 delivery

oculus_rift

Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe announced on Twitter today that the Oculus Rift pre-orders have begun shipping, and customers should begin seeing their packages on their doorsteps by March 28.

Here’s the official statement from Iribe:

Oculus opened up pre-orders in January for the Rift virtual reality headset. As you can imagine, they were quickly snaffled up and sold out. The headset costs $600, and now, consumers won’t be able to get their hands on Oculus’ virtual reality headset until sometime in July.

Once again, customers should begin seeing their package on March 28. And as a quick reminder, 30 games are available at launch, though customers who pre-ordered the headset will get EVE: Valkyrie and Lucky’s Tale free of charge.

Anyone looking forward to July for more orders to open up?
