Samsung just announced a band adapter for the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic. This will make the process of switching between watch straps hassle free.
Instead of having to use the clipping mechanism to swap watch straps, Samsung is making the process a whole lot easier using a new band adapter. This will allow users to attach any standard 20mm watch strap to their Gear S2 or Gear S2 Classic.
The process is simple, first detach the original watch strap on your Gear S2 and replace it with the band adapter. From there you’ll be able to attach any standard 20mm watch strap. This can be done by placing the pins inside the holes of the connector. Third-party watch straps can be purchased from a wide range of online retailers like Amazon, Newegg and more. Samsung will also likely sell some straps of their own via their online store.
Samsung’s new band adapter is coming to Germany, Singapore and South Africa. The company says that the Unites States is among a bunch of other countries that will getting the band adapter soon after the first three. It will come in choice of silver and/or black to match the color of your watch (as seen below). Pricing is yet to announced, but it shouldn’t be too much.
